Heroes is a digital design tribute to David Bowie. Idea is simple — we use Twitter to show that the whole world sings Heroes continuously. Every time the song is played our algorithm searches for twits posted in that exact moment on Twitter, containing song lyrics word by word used by different people across the globe. Project’s visuals are inspired by the old vinyl cover with a Red planet - homeland of the Starman, and quite probably of Bowie himself. It’s animation follows the song’s rhythm, yet you can play around with it to suit your own feel of Heroes with proposed settings. Selected tweets grow into a system of satellites around Red planet, becoming a beautiful metaphor of timelessness of Bowie’s legacy, as the planet becomes surrounded by by an array of space bodies formed of lyrics extracts. We can be heroes. For ever and ever.
