L’envol is a French modern fine dining restaurant at a five star hotel St.Regis Hong Kong. We have created a visual identity with a key concept of “Fine rawness” that speaks volumes of chef’s philosophy. The name of a restaurant is translated as “a take off moment”. It made a choice of materials for applications: airy transparent dividers contrasts with hand made craft paper with it’s thick texture and raw edges. The overlays create an unexpected compositions out of content that makes layout look experimental and contemporary yet suitable for a fine dining restaurant. It also underlines restaurant interior where elegant textures of marble and gold are balanced with massive ceiling lights made of raw crystal. The logotype is a mono typeface with an elevated letter L for the symbol that serves a very straight forward metaphor for high standards and stands for a literally high end.
