The Old Man menu no.7
Nothing exist in isolation
Printed Matter, Visual Art.
Each year we work with the bar to create new conceptual menu. This is 7th menu, which we dedicated to relationships — us and client, bar and it’s guests, Hemingway and people in his life.
Nothing exists in isolation. People, flavours, dreams — everything exists in relation to one another and the spaces between. We complete each other. Through discussions, different points of view, agreements and disagreement. This menu explores how one thing affects another — stories, flavours and it’s actual pages.
To express this in print, we used bible paper — sheer pages complete each other. As it inspired by a writer, typography plays a key role in the design. We use GT Alpina not just to design layouts, but work as writers here, mixing form and the meaning. This time we limited ourself to use only type as mean of expression, and leaving a blank space for guest to complete the full circle. Designer — Client — User.
